Emergencies
If you or someone else may be seriously ill or injured, call your local emergency number now (999 in the UK, 112 in Europe, 911 in North America). First-aid pages follow published resuscitation and first-aid guidance but do not replace a certified first-aid course or the instructions of the emergency call handler.
Medicines and tests
Medication pages describe how medicines work and what to watch for; they are not prescribing information. Never start, stop or change a medicine on the basis of this site. Test pages explain what tests measure; reference ranges differ between laboratories and results are only meaningful when a clinician reads them in context.
Accuracy
We work to keep the content accurate and current, cite our sources and correct mistakes promptly, but we make no warranty that any page is complete, accurate or up to date, and we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on it. Content has not yet been independently reviewed by a clinician (see the medical review policy).
The 3D model
The atlas shows one adult male reference body. Real anatomy varies between people; the model is a teaching aid, not a representation of any individual.
