Medical review policy
What the review status on each page means, and what we are working towards.
Current status
Every substantive page carries an About this page block with its author, review status, last-updated date and source count. At present the review status of every page is not yet independently reviewed: content has been checked by the editorial team against its cited sources but has not been reviewed by an independent, qualified clinician. We state this plainly rather than imply a review that has not happened.
What review will mean
When a page is medically reviewed, the block will name the reviewer, their qualification and role, and the date of review; the page will also carry a last medically reviewed date in its structured data. Reviewer profiles will list only qualifications and professional information the reviewer has confirmed and permitted us to publish. We will never invent a reviewer, a credential or a review date.
Priorities for review
- Medication and drug-class pages, and the first-aid procedures.
- Condition pages with "when to seek care" guidance.
- Tests and imaging, especially reference ranges and interpretation.
- Anatomy and physiology.
